Keeping your home clean is important but it might not always seem like the most fun thing to do. However, getting your home sparkling clean doesn’t always have to be an overly time consuming process. In fact, there are plenty of ways in which you can keep your home clean using quick and easy hacks.
Get Rid of Water Rings Using Olive Oil and a Hairdryer
While you may be vigilant with coasters around the coffee tables and other wooden surfaces, you can’t always guarantee that everyone is as careful as you are. If you find unsightly water rings on your wooden surfaces, there is, thankfully, a simple way to get rid of them. This hack from Cleaner Cleaner offers a simple way to remove them using just a hairdryer and a little olive oil.
“Blast the ring on high heat until it begins to disappear, before rubbing a bit of olive oil on the area once the mark has gone in order to recondition the wood.”

Clear Your Drains of Clogs with Vinegar and Baking Soda
Clogs in your shower and bath drains can result in you ending up standing in ankle-deep water during every shower. These clogs tend to be caused by a build of hair, soap and residue from hair products. Mixed together, you can end up with a slimy mess which is pretty unpleasant to remove.
However, there is a simple solution that you can make from just two household kitchen ingredients – baking soda and vinegar. Start by pouring some boiling water down the drain before adding half a cup of baking soda – that’s around seven tablespoons. After a couple of minutes, pour one cup of vinegar mixed with one cup of hot water down the drain. Pop the plug in and leave it to sit for around 10 minutes, then pour more boiling water down the drain.
Keep Your Chopping Boards Clean Without Harsh Chemicals
Wooden chopping boards can harbour a lot of bacteria. Just think, every time you use a knife on it, you’re likely to leave a groove in the wood, creating another area where bacteria can thrive. This bacteria can then cause some pretty unpleasant smells making it an unwelcome tool for food preparation.
However, as you prepare food here, you may not want to use harsh chemicals to clean your chopping board. A great way of cleaning it with natural ingredients is by using sea salt and lemon. Pour the sea salt onto the chopping board and then use a lemon cut in half to scrub the board. This is a very effective way of getting rid of any unpleasant odours left over from the food you’ve prepared.
By just using a few quick cleaning hacks, you should be able to get your home spotless in no time at all. Stop putting all that elbow grease in when it’s not necessary and use these cleaning hacks to take the hard work out of your house work.
